Róża is a young girl who dreams of playing the violin. She leaves for Warsaw, where she intends to study music. There she meets Michał, with whom she falls madly in love. She follows him to St. Petersburg. However, Michał no longer wants to see Róża. The girl returns to Warsaw. However, she cannot find her place there. Her enormous talent has been wasted, and she has married a man she does not love. The woman broke down after the death of her beloved son.
