Richard Whelan is a highly experienced producer and 1st assistant director whose career in the film industry spans 36 years. He started in 1985 as a PA on James Cameron’s blockbuster, Aliens, and quickly moved up to the role of 2nd assistant director on acclaimed films such as Patriot Games, First Knight, the James Bond film, Goldeneye, and many more. Soon after, Richard moved into the position of 1st assistant director for films like Fever Pitch, Mama Mia: Here We Go Again, Sliding Doors, Fast & Furious; Hobbs & Shaw, Steven Spielberg’s epic mini-series Band of Brothers, George Lucas’ Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, and Amazon Prime’s Citadel (release 2022). Richard was associate producer of Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger and co-founder of the production company Eight Wonder Pictures.
