Joel Behrens is an American visual effects supervisor at Digital Domain, who has worked on more than forty feature films as well as episodic and commercial projects. He began his career in visual effects in 2002 at Asylum Visual Effects. Over the years, he progressed through roles such as Compositing Supervisor, Digital Effects Supervisor, and then Visual Effects Supervisor. His credits include work on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Ready Player One (2018), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and Morbius (2022). He was nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award in 2008 for Outstanding Compositing in a Motion Picture for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. He was nominated in 2022 for a Hollywood Professional Association Award for Outstanding Visual Effects – Theatrical Feature for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
