Anton and Els van Dijk have a hair salon in Hilversum. Their daughters Ietje (20) and Eef (18) are asked by Anton's brother, broadcasting director Peter van Dijk, to audition for a television presenter position. While this opens up an exciting new world for one daughter, it marks the beginning of a period of personal tragedy and radical change for the other.
