Mr. Takehana is a popular teacher at a high school in Kyoto Prefecture. His classes are highly interactive, filled with laughter and respect. He listens attentively to his students and never scolds them without asking for their side of the story. Many of his students lack self-confidence and self-esteem. As a gay man, Takehana suffered from years of self-hatred before coming out. Takehana decides to tell his students how he came to accept himself in the hope that it will help them.
