Ellen Lindstrom winds up in the room of a British diplomat, Anthony Mortlake, who introduces Ellen to heroin. Later that night, he finds Ellen in the bathroom, dead. When police inspector Alvarez suggests a search for a syringe, Mortlake refuses to open his dispatch case on the basis of diplomatic immunity.
