In het nieuwe seizoen gaat dé showbizzfamilie van Nederland, de Roelvinkjes, de uitdaging aan. Ze verlaten hun huis in de dure PC Hooftstraat en nemen hun intrek in een bekende minimawijk in de hoofdstad. Een maand lang gaan Dries, zijn vrouw Honoria en zijn zoons Dave en Donny (die voor deze gelegenheid weer thuis komen wonen) op een houtje bijten: ze moeten leven van een bijstandsuitkering.
